The earlier Triple Fan Fairs were at hotels on, or just off, Grand Circus, a much better, and easier to find location. I think most of us were there for the comic book side of things, but that’s just my recollection. I know I didn’t bother checking out the authors at the time. Needless to say, my loss! I didn’t know of Hamilton at the time, not being a much of a science fiction fan, but I learned to appreciate him just a few short years later, when I started collecting and reading science fiction fiction!

I remember being disappointed because a bigger deal wasn’t made over Edmond Hamilton. We drove in from New Baltimore and saw Bishop Pike in the elevator. He was staying at the hotel, and no wonder! Check out those rates! $12 a room! Wow!
