If it goes on the comic, then where; the back cover? An insert? Or should the information just be provided to retailers to for their information, to disseminate however they see fit; print and post, share on demand, etc.

He’s adamantly down on labeling a comic “Mature Readers” and as far as I know he’s never allowed any personally owned properties (like Sin City) to be labeled in any way.

I’m certainly against censorship when it comes to a state agency telling us what content we are allowed and not allowed to consume, but I think it’s in everybody’s best interest to include *something* on the face of the product that gives retailers a heads up so it is properly handled.

Quick flip-throughs sometimes miss the target widely. I remember the first time I was exposed to erotic manga as a retailer. Something with a relatively mild cover, very cartoonish looking and a quick scan didn’t happen to hit the juicy pages. I tossed it out on a rack for general audiences and would have sold it to all ages, if it hadn’t been for a customer noticing it and bringing it back up to the counter.

An ingredients label would be great, and it’s not censorship, it’s just good common sense in a world where content rushes by so fast, there’s no possible way for a business to read it all thoroughly before it gets racked.
