My husband has this Ben Cooper spiderman costume from 1965. Its worn and original box is worn. Amazing how much they go for. He is having a hard time throwing it out. Memories.

I would say that’s a Fabulous Find and the price certainly sounds right. Hope you added it to your collection, I sure would have! I suspect that there are very few of the original versions out there, but an estate sale sounds like the place to be able to still find gems like these!

I just found a similar costume at an estate sale. I think it may be the 3rd edition and not the first. $15

I know, I can’t believe he didn’t sell either! But this just might be the holy grail in Marvelmania collectibles, outside the actual comic books themselves! So part of me does understand.

That mask color is fantastic! And it’s ventilated, too! Someone offered 20 grand for the costume and the person STILL didn’t sell it? Why can’t that happen to me. Must be nice to be rich enough to turn that offer down.
