Alos happy that you chose to leave a comment or two. As I said to other of your group of HAers, it’s cool to hear from some of the “old time” fandom folks. I was never as involved as I would have liked to be, but have managed to put together a pretty good collection of old fanzines. Not enough of those early 60s zines as I would like, but at least I’ve got a smattering. These form the 70s are a little easier to find and of course, a little easier on the pocketbook, as well. – greg

Actually, I DO have current Facebook pages based on the Silver Age Superman, the Pre-1964 Batman, and the TV Batgirl! … That last one is close to what I used to do for The Heroine Addict, no?

Glad to see this article on the old fanzine. Had fun working on it. Unfortunately, I only still have copies of #4 and #5. But I’m glad to have this overview of the entire series. Gee, maybe one of us old members should start a modern Facebook page based on this fanzine!

Thanks for reminding me of part of my wasted youth. ^_^ The Heroine Addict (changed to Showcase because the post office kept giving us strange looks) was my baby for a few years, and it let me work with a bunch of talented and fun folks back before I became either. Glad you enjoyed it too! I later wandered through assorted other fandoms, then switched to acting & comedy. Any art I do these days is under an assumed name for reasons…

Doug, Glad you found my post. The Heroine Addict fanzine was a great little fanzine. I’m still in touch with Mercy Van Vlack, but I don’t get to see her, or Ken, as often as I used to.
