Founded in 1990 by a comic book and monster movie enthusiast, Back to the Past Collectibles quickly gained traction as a reputable collectibles broker known for its integrity and expertise.
As the internet revolutionized sales in the late 90s, our scope expanded, allowing us to bring our knack for uncovering vintage treasures to a broader audience. With the dawn of our second decade, we delved deeper into estate sales and vintage markets, solidifying our position as industry leaders. By 2011, we had introduced our own live auction events, blending traditional and online platforms for a seamless bidding experience.
Now, in our fourth decade, our focus remains on empowering families to recognize the worth of their collectibles and navigate the market with confidence as well as providing quality vintage collectibles to collectors nationwide.

Owner and Chief Pathfinder C. Scott Lovejoy has exhibited a passion for uncovering the story behind vintage items from a very young age, pulling dusty boxes out of his grandma’s attic in search of postcards and old records to play on the wind-up Victrola.
His penchant for always looking for the best solution to a problem drives our core philosophy in being clear and transparent about the collections we handle: Say what we’ll do and then do what we said!
When he’s not working with the next newly discovered collection, he enjoys life with his wife Megan and their dog Maisie. You will often find him debating the merits of the Beatles vs. The Rolling Stones (he’s a Stones guy) and explaining why Brazil (1985) is one of the greatest films ever made.
Our mission is to bring peace of mind to our client’s lives through evaluating and marketing their collectible items, as well as support the excitement and nostalgia of our buyer fan base. We will accomplish this by exceeding expectations in every aspect of the process, regardless of how big or small the collection may be.
Our journey began in the 1990s as a fledgling local comic book shop (LCS) serving the Livonia, Michigan community. Since then, we've undergone several transformations, expanding our reach nationally, and refining our craft. Yet, our commitment to our mission remains unwavering.
