Welcome back to another Fabulous Find for the week before Christmas. I am continuing with the contents of the fanzine Fan # 1 this week to make it a little easier on myself and because there are lots more Christmas goodness within Fan # 1 to share with you.
Recapping last week’s post, Fan # 1 was published by Chris Padovano and it was published in 1977. It was actually a continuation of The Fans of Central Jersey fanzine, which had just folded. Chris had been working on issue # 21, when the club & zine went under, so he self-published this zine, using contributions already in hand.
I shared the Christmas cover as drawn by C C Beck, as well as, two of the interior drawings; Red Sonja & the Wizard drawn by Frank Thorne and E-Man and company by Joe Staton. They were probably my favorite pieces, but the ones I’ll share this week follow close behind. That a look and let me know your opinions!
First up this week is a Howard the Duck sketch by Gene Colan. Enjoy!

Next is a nice Shadow (or should that be Shadlow?) Christmas page drawn by Paul Bonammo (Hope I got that spelling correct. I am not familiar with Mr. Bonammo, but I really like his Shadow!

Next to be showcased here, is a Hulk Christmas drawing from Ernie Chan, or should it be Ernie Chua? He’s done work using both last names during his career. Anyway, here is his Hulk wishing you all a Merry “Hulk”mas!

And finally the last image I’ll share from Fan # 1, is the centerfold, for all you Star Wars fans. Sorry, not sure who the artist is, but here ya go …

Well, that’s it for this post, that is scheduled to hit the Friday before Christmas. I hope that Santa is good to all of you out there and that you all get your Christmas wish and not a lump of coal.
I’ll be back again next week with another Fabulous Find or maybe a new RETRO REVIEW. Who knows you’ll just have to check back in then.
Merry Christmas to Mr. and Mrs. America and to all the ships at sea …
be seeing you …
